     Cord Construction is a leading, design-build general contractor and construction firm offering superior and professional construction services throughout the Midwest. Founded in 1979 in Freeport, Illinois, by Robert Stroup and Craig Erdmier, Cord initially focused on design-build projects for industrial clients. In the early 1980s, Cord relocated to Rockford. Since then, the company has extended its construction management expertise to serve companies in healthcare, education, financial services, retail, manufacturing, aerospace, and social services. 

     Cord has worked with a variety of companies to complete projects of varying size, type, budget and complexity, including:

     In 2011, Craig purchased all of Robert’s stock and became the sole owner. Today, with Craig as President, Cord Construction continues its legacy of producing quality construction projects completed on time and on budget.
