On This Day

 “Groundhog Day” movie was released 25 years ago today.

  Locations for most of the shooting of Groundhog Day was in Woodstock, Illinois.   

  The quarry which was used in a scene is the William Charles Construction Co. quarry on Nimtz Road in Loves Park.

   The first Sears, Roebuck and Co. retail store opened in Chicago on February 2,  1925 in the Merchandise Building, which was their mail order plant. 

 The G.I. Joe action figures by Hasbro were introduces on this day in 1964.
